What makes a great family dog?
A good family dog has different experiences and training needs than the average pet. That’s why typical class-based training models don’t always work as well for family dogs.
A really great family dog may know ‘sit,’ ‘down,’ and ‘come,’ but what sets them apart is what they do without being told. These skills are taught best in a home setting, not a class setting!

FAQ’s
How much is dog training going to cost?
I like to be transparent about my pricing, but I also try to be clear about what can be accomplished at a given price point. That’s why I include the price when listing the training package.
Just click “View Price” on the package you are interested in for the rate to pop up.
If you choose a single session but then decide to add sessions, I’ll charge you at the lower package rate.
Do you offer doggy daycare or boarding?
Yes! For an added daycare fee, I offer daycare and training sessions for dogs and puppies. This can be a great way to give your pup healthy socialization opportunities and see rapid training growth!
I can occasionally offer board and train packages. If you have dates in mind to board and train your pup, let me know!
How do you take payment?
I take cash, Venmo, and card (with a service fee).
Payment plans are available through card payments.
What are your training methods?
I train using positive reinforcement (usually treats) and this is why:
As a family dog trainer, one of my top concerns is always helping dogs stay calm and confident.
Dogs who are NOT calm and confident struggle living with kids, and can be a danger to their families. Dogs who are calm and confident feel safe and know what is expected of them.
The best way to make sure that a dog feels safe is by choosing to train with positive reinforcement. This kind of training is science-based, effective, and is easy to learn. Unlike more traditional dog training, it has not been seen to have negative side effects like increased aggression and unpredictability.
Find out more about me and my training methods here, or see me in action on Instagram.
What does my dog need for training?
Dogs in training should be comfortable wearing a standard, well-fitted flat collar, fabric martingale collar, body harness or head collar.
They should be on a standard flat leash (no Flexi-leads, chains, or e-collars please).
Handlers in group classes or transfer training sessions should have treats their dog likes, a clicker, bags to clean up after their pup, and water.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated?
Puppies should be at least 8 weeks old at the start of training and current on shots and vet care. I require proof of vaccination status prior to your dog’s first in-person session with me.
I ask that dogs or puppies be in your home for 7 days without health concerns.
